Manifestaciones conductuales del trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad y su impacto en el aprendizaje y la convivencia escolar

Resumen
El trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad afecta a cerca del ocho por ciento de la población escolar mundial y, en la mayoría de los casos, se manifiesta ante el docente mucho antes de llegar a una consulta clínica. Este ensayo analiza cómo cuatro manifestaciones nucleares de la condición, la inquietud motora, la inatención sostenida, la debilidad del control inhibitorio y la impulsividad, se traducen en desventajas de aprendizaje y en tensiones de convivencia dentro del aula, y examina qué respuesta educativa sostiene la evidencia disponible. Se revisan metaanálisis, revisiones paraguas y estudios de registro publicados entre 2021 y 2026 sobre epidemiología, bases neurobiológicas, funcionamiento ejecutivo, rendimiento académico y relaciones entre pares. El análisis sostiene que estas conductas no expresan una falla de voluntad sino una regulación neurocognitiva todavía en desarrollo, cuyo impacto depende del ajuste entre las demandas del aula y los recursos atencionales del estudiante. De ahí se deriva una tesis incómoda para la práctica habitual: la intervención con mejor respaldo empírico no consiste en corregir al alumno señalado, sino en modificar las condiciones de enseñanza y fortalecer la formación del profesorado que las diseña. Se concluye advirtiendo la escasez de evidencia iberoamericana situada.
